For this project I received a mocked-up sheet map and a brief on the headings/sections to be included. From there I estimated word counts and commissioned the research and writing, and edited and styled the manuscript.

* Descriptions of each section of Fraser Island Great Walk and other short walks.
* Editorial on getting to Fraser Island, 4WDriving tips, Camping and caring for the environment.
* Checklists of visitor information centres and other useful services.

The brief for this was to 'freshen it up' for a new edition. This meant extensive fact checking of all tourist information centre details (addresses, phone numbers, websites) as well as the lists of main attractions and places of interest. While checking/updating and 'freshening' the descriptive text, I pretty much rewrote it. We replaced about 75% of the photos and had to mark up and check map corrections for POI points.
The third in the series, my role involved manuscript collation, image selection, working closely with the author and the designers.
The "real" Australia does not lie at the end of a comfortable sealed road, but rather at the end of all those unsealed roads leading to an endless number of perfect destinations. This guide is another 'must have' in the Gregory's 4WD series: it will help you plan anything from a short getaway near a major urban centre to a longer 4WD holiday at the farthest corner of the land.
